Review by hotel critic
During my recent gourmet getaway to Northfield in Minehead, I was pleasantly surprised by the culinary offerings, showcasing a menu that catered to a wide range of tastes. I indulged in the chef's steak and kidney pie, which was a comforting reminder of home, while I appreciated the flexibility of dining in various settings—be it the bar or the inviting terrace on a nice day. The hotel also boasts five distinct dining areas, each creating a unique atmosphere. While enjoying breakfast, I was met with an impressive array of options. The staff, especially the attentive barman from South Africa, made my visit memorable with his willingness to go above and beyond, ensuring all guests felt welcomed. It’s worth noting that the garden adds an extra dimension to the experience, perfect for a stroll post-meal. Despite a brief disappointment with the pool closure, my overall stay was enjoyable. Northfield is certainly a hidden gem for food enthusiasts, with plenty of nearby attractions to explore.
